From the Principal

Happy 2020 and welcome to Philadelphia Primary! With each New Year, comes another exciting opportunity to set new goals both academically and in wellness.  In support of these goals, our faculty, staff, students, and community members continue to work collaboratively to create a positive educational environment. Here at Philly, students are challenged to learn new things, make new friends, and participate in many activities and events, helping each individual to reach their potential and making Philadelphia Primary a special place for all.

Our history is rich! Built in 1936, this building was the home of the Philadelphia High School from 1937 to 1958.  Now the smallest building in the Indian River Central School District, we continue to cherish school traditions, while cultivating a 21st century educational program for all who enter to learn.

I cannot fail to mention that a building is just a building without the people who care for it each and everyday.  Our dedicated faculty and staff are committed to providing the best education for each and every child in a safe place. We lift our students through many opportunities including free breakfast and lunch for all; connecting our students with community programs and events; and volunteering to aide our community members in times of need.  There is truly a sense of family here at Philadelphia Primary.

However, we know we cannot do it alone.  I personally would like to welcome all community members to be a part of our Philly Family. Come watch our music concerts; cheer our children on during our Smile Day events; visit during Grandparents' Day; or attend a PTO meeting to learn more about what our school programs have to offer our children. Connecting home and school makes us a great community of learners!

As principal, I am extremely privileged to be a small part of your child's day. I look forward to working together with you to create a great school year.
