From the Principal

Welcome back students and families to the 2018-19 school year!  With each fall season, comes a fresh start to learn new things, meet new friends, and engage in many activities and events that make Philadelphia Primary a special place for all.

Our history is rich! Built in 1936, this building was the home of the Philadelphia High School from 1937 to 1958.  Now the smallest building in the Indian River Central School District, we continue to cherish school traditions, while cultivating a 21st century educational program for all who enter to learn.

I cannot fail to mention that a building is just a building without the people who care for it each and everyday.  Our dedicated faculty and staff are committed to providing the best education for each and every child in a safe place. We lift our students through many opportunities including free breakfast and lunch for all; connecting our students with community programs and events; and volunteering to aide our community members in times of need.  There is truly a sense of family here at Philadelphia Primary.

However, we know we cannot do it alone.  I personally would like to welcome all community members to be a part of our Philly Family. Come watch our music concerts; cheer our children on during our Smile Day events; visit during Grandparents' Day; or attend a PTO meeting to learn more about what our school programs have to offer our children. Connecting home and school makes us a great community of learners!

As principal, I am extremely privileged to be a small part of your child's day. I look forward to working together with you to create another great school year.
